October 2007 Volume 2 Number 9
|
Hello Again!
This revised October 2007 email includes additional Dakota Gold high school players that were inadvertantly omitted from our initial listing of our players selected for the All-State high school teams. This is quite a list of players! We are sorry for the oversight!
|
Congratulations to our High School Players
|
|
DGSC Players are Big Factors on Winning Teams
Congratulations to the O'Gorman girls and Lincoln High boys as the State 'AA' Champions for High School 2007! Washington girls were Finalists in the AA division.
In the 'A' division, Sioux Falls Christian boys are the Champions, with Harrisburg girls as Finalists. Dakota Gold players are plentiful on the many of the winning boys and girls team rosters:
- 94% of the O'Gorman varsity girls are DGSC players;
- 63% of the Lincoln boys are DGSC players.
- Washington High School (AA girls Finalists) had 88% of their players from DGSC.
- Harrisburg and SF Christian also have DGSC players!
We think that these facts, year after year, support our belief that the Dakota Gold philosophy, coaches and training programs make a measurable difference to the soccer athlete! Be sure to spread the word of the successes of our players and our organization! |

'GoldRush' Friendlies
|
|
U10 to U14 Boys and Girls Teams
Our friends from Rushmore Soccer Club, Yankton and Sioux City joined DGSC on the weekend of October 20th for friendlies with our teams at the Training Grounds. This is the 2nd consecutive year of these friendlies between our club and the Rushmore Soccer Club, and we hope to continue to build this into a great event for our families for years to come.
The friendlies had U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 teams participating.
DGSC wants to thank our friends from these communities for making the trip and helping to build a better soccer community in South Dakota. |
| Keeper Sessions with Coach Barkus |

One Outdoor Session Remains - Indoor Sessions Soon!
If you haven't figured it out yet, the goalkeeper position is arguably the most important and athletically demanding position on the pitch.
DGSC's Staff Coach & Goalkeeper Coach Brandon Barkus (also Augustana College women's coach) has been conducting keeper training sessions on Mondays during September and October from 5:45-6:45pm.
One outdoor session remains: Oct 29. Indoor sessions will start in November; the dates and times will be announced soon. Please stay tuned!
All players interested in learning about this special position are encouraged to participate.
