What is the SCRIP program?
- DG SCRIP is a program offered to our members to help offset the cost of club soccer.
- The SCRIP program allows you to buy gift certificates to local and national merchants at face value and earn cash back “rebates” by using the certificates.
- Example: You shop at HyVee, so you give Dakota Gold $100, we give you a $100 gift certificate to HyVee.
- Then, for every certificate that is purchased, that business rebates a percentage of the face value back to you, into your SCRIP account. "Rebates" range from 1.5% - 22% of the certificate value.
- SCRIP allows you to earn $$ on the everyday items that you already purchase: groceries, gas, fast food, clothing, etc. SCRIP is a great way to earn $$ by spending $$ you already spend.
- Bottom line: SCRIP costs you nothing (except a one-time, $5 sign up fee) - you shop where you have always shopped, but now, the places where you shop reward you by rebating a portion of the sales back to your SCRIP account.
What businesses participate in SCRIP and what are the current rebates?The office has a list of over 200 local and national businesses that participate. Click HERE for a current order form with current rebate amounts. Some examples (subject to change):

- Macy’s - 10%
- Cabelas - 11%
- TJ Maxx - 7%
- BP/Amoco - 2%
What can I use my SCRIP money for?
- Your accumulated credit can be used for player fees, travel expenses, etc. Just include a receipt of your expenses in your order envelope and your check will be ready the following week.
Is there a cost to join?
- There is a $5 one-time account set-up fee.
When/where can I purchase SCRIP certificates?
- A SCRIP representative is available
- every Wednesday 11 AM to 1 PM in the ASI (Dome) conference room
- every Monday evenings 6:30 to 7:30PM in the ASI (Dome) conference room (NEW TIME)
How do I purchase SCRIP certificates?
- Every week, our SCRIP representative is at the Dome (see above).
- Local business certificates are typically available cash and carry, same day (the order form lists the local businesses typically available cash and carry).
- National certificates need to be ordered by our staff in advance: order forms dropped off by Wednesday at 1:00 PM will have your certificate ready for pick up the next Wednesday.
- You can drop off your order form anytime during Dakota Gold office hours, or mail to the Dakota Gold office. Be sure to include payment with your order form.
Can you send me my SCRIP certificates by US Mail?
- No. The certificates/cards are just like CASH, therefore we are unable to mail them to you. Neither Dakota Gold nor its representatives or staff are responsible for lost or misplaced certificates.
Can anyone else help with my SCRIP account?
- Yes. Family and friends are welcome to help you build your account by ordering certificates. They will be asked to fill out the registration form and pay the $5 set-up fee as well. Dollars that they earn will be automatically directed to your account.
What else do I need to know?
- Certificates may be used to pay off charge account balances only at JC Penney and Kohl’s. You must pay the account at the store IN PERSON (going directly to the customer service department works the best).
- Anyone writing a Non-Sufficient Fund check will incur a fee to be paid to DG SCRIP. After two NSF checks, only money orders or cashier checks will be accepted for payment.
- If a player leaves Dakota Gold, he/she will have 90 days to redeem that account or the balance will revert to Dakota Gold.
- Dakota Gold SCRIP uses the services of the Great Lakes SCRIP Center. This center purchases gift and merchandise certificates in large quantities at a discount from major retail chains. As a non-profit organization, we are able to buy these certificates at the discount, thereby raising funds for families of Dakota Gold.
