DAKOTA GOLD PREMIER SOCCER ACADEMY
Dakota Gold’s Premier Soccer Academy will be featuring Marco Stoini and Fabio Maranzana, 2 coaches from Italy. Other clinicians are Tom Maxon (Morningside College), Mekonnen Afa (U of Sioux Falls) and Daniel Ohayon.
Dates for the camp: July 27th - July 30th.
Team camps: July 27th - August 1st.
Cost: $100/player (Save $25 if you register before June 15th).
Registration deadline is July 9th.

Avera and DGSC Offer "Come Out and Play" Camp
Proceeds Benefit the "Together for Kids" Organization
 DGSC and Avera Sports Institute have teamed to offer the Come Out to Play! Soccer Camp on June 4-6 at Lions Centennial Park. This camp will provide area kids ages 5-14 the opportunity to train and interact with two players who started their soccer careers in the Midwest and have gone on to enjoy success at the highest level of professional soccer in the United States. The camp will be facilitated by former Major League Soccer (MLS) professionals Chris Brunt and Chris Houser, as well as the nationally licensed coaching staff from Dakota Gold Soccer Club. 2008 DGSC Scholarship Recipients

Regional college coaches and Dakota Gold alumni Katie Bunkers (Nebraska ’06), Mike Orr (Gustavus Adolphus ’01) and Kristina Wong (Morningside) were in attendance to discuss their experiences. Former DGSC Player Inducted into SDSSA Hall of Fame
Chris Houser Inducted at SDSSA'S Annual Meeting
Former Dakota Gold player Chris Houser was inducted into the South Dakota State Soccer Association Hall of Fame on November 3, 2007.
Chris has represented South Dakota at the professional (Major League Soccer’s Tampa Bay Mutiny), collegiate (University of Southern Conn.), and the US National Team levels! SDSSA recognized Mr. Houser’s achievements and commitment to improving soccer in South Dakota by selecting him for the SDSSA Hall of Fame during their 2007 Annual Meeting.

A recent study of nearly 300 youth players suggests that winning games doesn’t necessarily lead to their sense of enjoyment or fulfillment through sports participation. Rather, the study found, an environment that promotes having fun, self-improvement and maximum participation and effort is more beneficial to young athletes’ growth.
